Adding a Cable to a Diagram from a Library or Project Model
There are several ways to add a
Cable to a diagram:
- If the
Cable is already in the Project Model, simply drag it from the model onto the Project Diagram. This will cause the cursor pointer to change to a
Cable pointer. Click on the diagram to start the cable, move to the destination and click again to end the cable. - Create an instance of a library cable by dragging the library cable onto the diagram, then clicking to connect it to a group node. Doing so creates an instance of the cable in the model.
- Click the
Cable icon in the Schematic Group of Symbols of the Main Toolbar then click in the diagram or on a group node to start the cable. Click again to add a bend or end the cable.
Note: The
Cable schematic symbol that appears on the Main Toolbar, can be used multiple times on a diagram. Once it has been selected on the Toolbar it can be used over and over on the diagram until ESC is pressed on the keyboard.
Also note that the Cable tool in the toolbar creates a generic cable with no properties and no instance in the Project Model. It creates graphical elements only.
